I recreated Vincent Van Gogh’s Vase with Irises Against a Yellow Background (1890) using pointillism, luminous metallic ink, and a matte black sheet. On the final day of May I made this piece as an entry for #MayFlowers, celebrating the wonders that bloom in the Spring. I also wanted to finish this month involving irises, since they are one of the best blooms of the season and also an image of hope – something very much needed in all the challenges we are facing as individuals and as part of society.
